The Waiting Game – Jacqueline Nash
It’s a waiting game none of us wants to play,
the outcome blows harshly in the winds of reality,
spoken words that no-one needs to say,
for they are written in our eyes for all to see.
Although we knew this time would soon be here,
knowing doesn’t make it easier to bear.
Until that final breath escapes into the atmosphere,
we play the waiting game in silent prayer.
