The Darkness by Jacqueline Nash

The Darkness

Shadows, I see your darkness
but tell me what you see,
do you see my tenebrosity
or my luminosity.
I fear my heart is black,
it’s searching for some light,
but light is so hard to find
in the darkness of the night.

The blackness seaps insidiously
into the void of my soul,
filling it with it’s intensity
as is it’s propensity.
I fear my soul is tainted,
it longs for a sign of light,
but light is so hard to find
in the darkness of the night.

This night passes by so slowly,
it plays with my sanity,
my eyes see only lunacy
affecting my mentality.
I fear my mind has lost it
I can see no glimpse of light,
but then light is so hard to see
in the darkness of the night.

About Jacqueline C Nash

Jacqueline loves to write poetry and has also written a book but none of her work has been published, she writes purely for enjoyment. It has helped her through good and bad times, the last few years of which have been particularly difficult. Her poetry is inspired by nature and life in general. Much of her work is from true life, sometimes stretching the truth a little, but it is also from her imagination. Jacqueline is a firm believer that creativity feeds the soul. As well as poetry she loves music, dance and dabbles in mixed media art and up-cycling.
