The Waiting Game by Jacqueline Nash

I have also written this poem in the form of a micropoem also called ‘The Waiting Game’ which you can view on my micropoetry blog Jacqueline C Nash Micropoetry.

The Waiting Game

It’s a waiting game none of us wants to play,
the outcome blows harshly in the winds of reality,
spoken words that no-one needs to say,
for they are written in our eyes for all to see.

Although we knew this time would soon be here,
knowing doesn’t make it easier to bear.
Until that final breath escapes into the atmosphere,
we play the waiting game in silent prayer.
