Persona – Jacqueline Nash

Persona

She was like a diamond, multifaceted,
not a simple soul but highly complicated,
confused about who she was meant to be
her inner thoughts fighting constantly.

Rising in the morning of each new day
she wondered which face she should display;
although she always sparkled like a solitaire
with whichever face she chose to wear.

She never worried for well she knew,
if the face was out of place, all she had to do
was to reach for another facet mentally,
revealing the jewel she believed people wanted to see.

Problems arose when in a group of people she knew,
she could not remember whom to show which face to,
then with crystal clarity, her thoughts raced to enthral,
reinventing a face that was suitable for all.
